Academic Credentials:
Dr. Dolan teaches in the Department of Natural Science (Biology) and is responsible for the management of the Rieck Center for Habitat Studies and the university greenhouse. In addition, Dr. Dolan runs the Forest Ecology Lab at UF.
Research in his lab examines changes in plant communities resulting from disturbances, including fire, timber harvesting, and invasive species. Dr. Dolan is particularly interested in the dynamics of central hardwood forests, and his current work focuses on the impact of emerald ash borer on forest plant communities of northwest Ohio.
Dr. Dolan is a member of the Ecological Research as Education Network, The Ecological Society of America, and the Botanical Society of America.
