Who is Considered a Transfer Student?
If you have enrolled in 12 credit hours or more of college-level coursework at an accredited institution since graduating from high school and would like to take courses at the University of Findlay, you are considered a transfer student.
Important Next Steps
Enrolling at the University of Findlay as a transfer student is easy and can be done in a few simple steps.
1. Submit your Application
If you are planning to major in one of our health professions programs or are transferring from an accredited business school, you may have additional criteria to meet in order to ensure all of your credits transfer to Findlay.
2. Submit all Final Official Transcripts
Submit all final official transcripts that are from college-level institutions, high schools previously attended and if you participated in a College Credit Plus program. Final transcripts must be received and evaluated before acceptance or class registration.
3. Submit your Deposit
Submit your $200 deposit after you have been admitted.
4. After Your Deposit Is Received
- You will contact your admissions counselor to complete the application for housing and meal plan.
- Submit your health form.
- Submit your physical form (student-athletes only).
- Select your payment plan. (Information is sent out by the Business Office in the spring).
Financial Aid
- Make sure the University of Findlay is added to your FAFSA – the Findlay school code is: 003045.
- After Findlay has received all official transcripts, Merit scholarships are available for transfer students.
- Receive your financial aid estimated award letter.
(Aid awards may be reduced late in the awarding year based on University’s aid budget and number of awards made)
Transferring Credits
Up to 62 approved semester hours will transfer from a two-year institution. There is no limit to the number of approved semester hours that will transfer from a four-year institution. However, bachelor’s degree students must complete at least 30 semester hours of Findlay coursework toward the total 124-semester hour degree requirement, and associate’s degree students must complete at least 15 semester hours of Findlay coursework toward the total 62-semester hour degree requirement in order to graduate.
Register for Classes
- Your transfer admissions counselor will introduce you to your academic advisor. You can register for classes remotely or on campus.
- Credits transfer easily to Findlay! Students can access Transferology for an unofficial transcript evaluation.
