Business Analytics Concentration

The MBA – Business Analytics concentration is approved to be offered this coming fall. The MBA-Business Analytics Concentration imparts the advanced analytical skills needed to dig deeper into organizational data and use it to make key business decisions. Not only will successful students graduate with a MBA-Business Analytics Concentration, but they will also earn a data analytics certificate setting them apart from other students with similar academic credentials. This is also a STEM-approved program. The STEM designation grants students three year OPT and students should be eligible to complete two semesters of Curricular Practical Training (CPT).

Prerequisite competencies:

  1. Accounting: Principles of Accounting (Financial and Managerial)
  2. Economics: Macroeconomics and Microeconomics
  3. Finance: Principles of Finance
  4. Database – a course in database management systems, preferably with SQL experience (for Business Analytics Concentration only). Students without this background can complete either:
    1. CSCI 503 – Database Concepts with a grade of “B” or higher
    2. CSCI 490 – Database Management Systems with a grade of “C” or higher
