Findlay’s Master of Arts in Education (MAE) program allows you to take the next step in your career while working around your schedule as a busy professional. Our advisors will work one-on-one with you to reach your personal career goals. We give you the attention and support to complete the work in your own time. 

Students can focus on these emphasis areas or create a professional development plan with electives that they choose.

Mission

The mission of the Master of Arts in Education is to enhance the development of teachers, administrators, and student services specialists so that they are prepared to: 

  • Reflect on instructional trends, methods and models in a teaching area of choice, selecting those most appropriate for the needs of their student population.
  • Become aware of the variety of family, social service, community, and business resources available to educators and develop collaborative plans and/or training materials to provide for perceived needs.
  • Foster enhanced interpersonal skills.
  • Examine and develop their own significant role as educators.
  • Develop techniques for managing changes
  • Experience the role of educator as researcher. 

Course Requirements

Students earning a Master of Arts degree in Education must complete the following curriculum.

Hands-On Experience

Courses in the MAE program core allow you to know yourself as a leader then how you can impact change at your institution. The culminating experience allows you to understand research and how to use data to make evidence-based decisions.

Elective courses may include courses with fieldwork. Principal, superintendent, and treasurer programs include an internship course with required hours.

University of Findlay’s College of Education is accredited by recognized regional and national bodies, ensuring your degree holds weight with employers and institutions nationwide. The College of Education holds national accreditation through CAEP.
